like Bruce Lee said, “be like water” & you'll get most interactions correct + be everywhere you need to be
Preparation is the key. Everyone should be as fully trained as possible, on handling issues of all types, and focus SOLELY on customer service. Also, make sure everyone (including you) gets as frequent of breaks as possible.
It always stresses me out, but I just try to make sure I get a good sleep the night before, bring lots of water and snacks with me and try to laugh with my crew!
Honestly, black friday is the day that I dread most. I have found after years and years of them that there is really no way to mentally prepare. Just make sure to get some sleep the night before and do the best you can.
Partner with the manager who makes the schedule if you can to make sure there is a solid balance of taskers and talkers working together to keep the flow going. If possible overschedule more bodies with shorter shifts than normal to avoid burnout from the overload. Consider a 4-6 hour shift the same workload as a traditional 8-10 in the conditions.
Keeping snacks and water handy helps energy, and celebrating little wins keeps morale up. For customers, clear signage and patience are key. Remember, it’s one day, focus on getting through it together rather than perfection.

This will be my first year as a lead for Black Friday. I’m kinda nervous because I’m actually over a department now. Our managers think of the game plan and we just execute it. Hopefully you and I both conquer Black Friday and it doesn’t conquer us. Good luck
Great advice… I know it’s hard being a store lead and trying to get everyone on board for the holiday schedule. I would say stay calm and plan strategically and you will be fine.
It all depends on how well the company runs and together as a team doesn't it?
