I’m 21 and want to learn directly from entrepreneurs, what would be the best way to discover and learn about entrepreneurship and starting your own company. I was going to look for conventions near me or networking events. If you could share other ways or youtube channels/content or books to read. Thank you!

Book recommendation - "Ride of a lifetime" by Robert Iger. Story of someone who started as a studio operator and went on to become CEO of Walt Disney.

Really relatable to most of us here who are employees as opposed to entrepreneurs. Books on Steve Jobs, Elon Musk are all good but I loved Robert's story more as I could relate and aspire. How he takes tough decisions, his honesty, humility etc are all something which we can learn from. Go for it fishes 😄

I have over 12 years in B2B sales/sales management experience along with a graduate degree. I am wanting to shift gears and I am at a point where I can invest time in myself to learn through practical experience. The new industry I am wanting to pursue is real estate investment. I have read all the books but want some hands on experience on the property management side. How could I best leverage my skills for a role in this, and what should my expectations be for negotiation in compensation?

I was recently hired as an event coordinator/project manager for my company. Are there any online certification courses I could take to freshen up my skills? I would also love book recommendations or trade article recommendations. Thank you in advance

Pros:

- fairly decent place to work (from someone who worked with the Vancouver and San Jose offices). never met a blue badger (permanent employee) who had awful things to say.

- Ashley Goodall (their SVP, Methods & Intelligence) co-authored a brilliant book on leadership and people management called “Nine Lies About Work” that makes me believe they can be an awesome place to work

Cons:

- red badgers had low morale since they’re contract workers and can be terminated at any time
