Although Amazon has instituted a hiring freeze and layoffs are probably on their way, I went through the loop for a security engineer position at AWS. Before I attended the final interviews, Amazon placed the hiring freeze and called me to ask if I wanted to go ahead or cancel my application. I decided do go ahead Right now I'm waiting for their response and the position I applied to changed from "under consideration" to "no longer under consideration". Thoughts?
I got an email from a recruiter from PayPal about a position I didn’t apply for. How do I know that? Because on workday you can see all the jobs I applied for. I applied for one position in the company but got reply for another position I am not interested in. The recruiter wants to set up a phone interview? How would you react? Because I would love working there, but not in this position,
Would you say something during the phone call or before?

Looking to make the move from working in industry to big4 and was curious as to what level and pay I might be worth?
I have 10 years experience out of uni, as well as completed CPA and MBA. I have a experience in managing entire finance function of small/medium entities, but most notably solid corporate finance experience/strategy leading refinance exercises, debt raising, hedging/treasury strategy etc…Would be looking for something in deal advisory / M&A / CFO advisory etc….thanks Deloitte EY PwC @

Nope.... lol. Except maybe Accenture? Have you looked at a transfer? Very unlikely to get a big 4 role (~2000 ppl have been cut in last few weeks and it ain’t going to get better for a while..)
Depending on which part of Accenture some areas are even growing right now (or so they say)

Look elsewhere but in the same ecosystem. Some of the larger, broader consulting firms are hiring significant numbers. Wouldn't even bother with a big four unless you're planning to move to Canberra.

Hey OP Australian interested in going to Canada at some point. Do you have family there or smg? How did you go about moving/job searching/transferring?
My partner was in Canada and I had distant family there. I quit and moved using a working holiday visa. Job hunt was tough without connections so I rejoined Accenture at a similar position (wasted a few years of my career). I would say plan it out if you don’t want to have to take a step back.
