How have you celebrated a big promotion at work? I just found out I am being promoted to senior manager and also earned the highest performance rating, and am thrilled!!

Congratulations for making this far. Wanna share your no 1 strength and no 1 sacrifice making up here?

Thank you! Interesting question. I would say my persistence has driven most of my successes. I believe in myself deeply and never give up. The top sacrifice has been… time and I used to feel like I was sacrificing my mental health as well, and that the high volume of work came at the cost of realizing my personal goals/priorities, but I decided to make a change and had some frank conversations when applying for a new job and have found a very sustainable balance at my current company. That also showed me what happens when I don’t work to maintain the balance, and that is an invaluable lesson that will help me to keep myself in check.

Congrats! My firm promotes us all at the same time so there really isn’t an in office celebration, but if it’s an individual celebration you can do whatever you want! ☺️

I celebrate my own accomplishments by buying myself a piece of jewelry that signifies it.

Nothing crazy expensive- but like a beautiful necklace with a maybe a small gold star or pretty unique bracelet bangle.
Something “everyday” enough so I wear it a lot. And reminded I’m a bad ass, to myself. :)

I have a small collection of these “meaningful to me” pieces and I wear them to summon strength and good vibes a lot.

A talisman of sorts .

The last place where I worked and promotions happened, we organised drinks where the celebrating lot paid a couple of rounds for those who missed out. But these days, when people work hybrid and remote, I wouldn't have an idea

Congrats! Maybe plan a trip or splurge on a designer item you've been eyeing!

Woohoo, well done! :)
One of the ways I love to celebrate that’s also super easy to organise is going for a nice meal with my partner and/or family.
Otherwise, if I have more time - we usually celebrate by going on a nice trip (even if it’s only for a few days).
Congrats!

The biggest thing I keep running and running around my head- after 8 months, why did he drop me? When he texted ending it l….it wasn’t me, like we weren’t us, his words were from someone else, like I didn’t matter. It doesn’t matter how much it wasn’t about me, how he chose to end it, and that’s what crushed me. Who I thought I knew was wrong. I want to know how close he was to loving me.

Going back to in-person learning has been quite a challenge. We have 4 in-person and 8 virtual. The 4 in-person have done as well as to be expected, however their behaviors have been less than desired. One is being considered for going back to virtual due to behaviors. It's next to impossible to expect them to keep masks on and when they do, they're usually nasty or wet. I have PPEs but things do happen in the spur of the moment and it's hard to stop and put on gloves and such.

Hello! I’ve previously only dated white guys. While in quarantine I’ve gone on dil mil and made an effort with brown guys on apps. Surprised to find that many live at home or visit home often in mid 20s, are not financially independent, cannot cook for themselves etc. Is this typical? Or maybe it’s just the area I live in. Sorry if this came off as offensive, it just seems to be a pattern I noticed

For those who work in Agencies, how do you accurately identify the work capacity of your Account Management team? I’m currently comparing against account billable/number of accounts, however, there are still discrepancies. I layer on time tracking, but smaller billable accounts will sometimes be just as demanding as larger billable accounts which create profitability issues.
