I wish I could relate, but I haven’t had a manager like that. In my experience, managers at most companies don’t seem particularly invested in their teams. It sounds like you’re fortunate to have a truly exceptional manager.

My last manager was a nightmare, I could never get him to have a conversation, I feel extremely lucky to have this fantastic manager - proves they’re still out there!
I can relate to that to some extent. I had a manager years ago who was pretty empathetic, and going to her with a problem usually turned into a fairly positive experience. To be honest, I was kind of spoiled in that position. Since then I've dealt with a few managers but none of them measured up in that way.

I’m glad you’ve had a great experience with one - they can be hard to find these days aswell!
It feels great until they eventually turn on you and use it all against you. Proceed with caution. They may not want to, but they may have to.

Yes I get you, but there is good ones out there!

This makes such a difference. Feeling heard reduces burnout more than any policy. A manager who listens and adjusts workload is rare and should never be taken lightly.

So grateful for them, being heard and listened to does wonders!
