How many hours of your day are taken up by meetings? Some days, it feels like my whole job is just back-to-back calls. I try to decline the non-essential ones, but between leadership syncs, 1:1s, team updates, and those “quick” questions from my boss and team, my calendar fills up fast. For those balancing team management and your own work, how many hours of meetings per day is your tipping point before it feels impossible to get anything else done?

7-8 hours of meeting a day is a LOT! Do you have to work additional hours to get your own work done for those days?

Seems to change by the week. One week will be minimum, half the day is meetings, the next week, only a handful. We’ve really been ramping up though for some reason. Past two weeks and this coming week my calendar is extremely busy. I do not envy balancing team management, I have a hard enough time with just myself right now!

I'm a younger plaintiff's side attorney (31). Does anyone else feel like white attorneys give you a particularly harder time? Like unreasonably denying clear facts, or trying to fish for a way to sanction you? Usually it's solo defense attorneys that get extreme with it, but I've seen some questionable stuff from BigLaw too. Hopefully I'm not the only one.
