It really does seem like a vicious circle. Someone has bad credit because they need a job. So they apply for a job, which will give them a chance to fix their credit. But no, they get disqualified because they have bad credit. It really doesn't make a lot of sense, but that's the way business often operates.
What is interesting, they use credit as a baseline, but not while employed- knew several people who had judgements against them but still have a job. Hmmm !
I wish more employers focused on skills and hustle, not credit scores. Just because someone’s had a rough patch doesn’t mean they won’t crush it in a sales role.
I didn't know this could impact being hired. I don't think this is for most companies. If it’s blocking you, challenge it if you can. And keep applying, plenty of employers won't consider that.
