How much weight should a strong 401(k) benefit really have when deciding whether to stay at a job long-term? For example, if a company offers a generous match or profit-sharing but the role itself isn’t that fulfilling or the salary growth feels limited, is it financially smarter to stay and maximize that retirement benefit or to leave for a higher salary and potentially invest the difference yourself? At what point does the value of a 401(k) stop being a good reason to stay?

I know that's depends on the amount I have to travel (and potentially stay) but at the moment this is unknown. Past 8 months was just twice a month + 2 nights stay.

The only thing I know is it won't be every week, the return trian ticket is about £80-100, depends I could plan ahead.
