Speaking from the Chicago (OKRP) perspective as a creative:
The creative dept is incredibly talented and filled with cool people. Our creative leaders are inspiring and supportive - they are trying to turn things around and produce great award-winning work. It’s kinda working, but we don’t have the best client roster so it’s a slow process.

The merger made things weird. Kinda forcing two very different cultures together and since Barkley is remote it feels like two companies. OKRP was very fun but it’s odd now.

WLB isn’t great, but better than other agencies in town. We are very award-focused now which has meant putting in more hours, but definitely depends on the team. Fortunately, our salaries seem to be pretty good compared to other agencies in town.

There’s been a big (positive) change in agency leadership so I’m hoping in a year from now things will look better.

It’s as stressful as anywhere else I’ve worked but I gotta say, I truly adored everyone except like four people in the entire office. Someone told me once “you can have a good team or you can have a good client but you’ll never get both.” and the team is why I stuck around as long as I did
