I would focus on continuing to do well and get promoted so you can get the raise you want. It’ll be difficult to jump to another firm as a senior without the current title. Don’t worry about the money - you’ll make much more over your career if you continue to do well and move up.
Good advice
I will add, this is around Nashville. Remote job.
That is how it went for me. I went to my boss last year and asked for a raise, and she escalated the request. She also encouraged me to train for promotions to work my way up.
A couple of my thoughts. It's hard to get a raise without some kind of justification. And saying you want to be paid more because other people are paid more is a bad way to sell it to the higher ups. Makes total sense to me but isn't really compelling for them. The promotion approach is a good path forward if you stick around.
I would think long term. 10k sounds like a lot now, but I wouldn't jump for that unless a lot of other things were also true. Jumping ever 3 years is often the best way to get pay increase but it has downsides.
