My firm does upward feedback and I asked about 10 of my team to participate so that I could be a better supervisor for them. My results: I got mostly great feedback with constructive points, however along with it I received the meanest, most cold hearted criticism I’ve ever seen (con’t in comments).

I’ll go first: I had a long night, didn’t charge my phone, phone died and I woke up 5 hours past my usual alarm… missed two important meetings, I was supposed to lead one of them 🥸

Everyone who I want to like me or to hangout with doesn’t respond to my texts or tells me they are too busy. This weekend I reached out to 12 people to see if they wanted to grab coffee or a drink or go for a walk. The number of people who just didn’t respond astounded me. I ended up eating dinner in bed by myself and getting brunch on my own.

I would like to take this time to sincerely apologize for calling people in there 30s old, I finally turned 30 and we are young af, unlike the old geezers in their 40s

Just found out that my favorite aunt, who claimed I was her “favorite” niece, chose to leave all her valuables to her other two nieces who never visited or called her once in the last ten years. My aunt passed away suffering from cancer last year and didn’t have her own kids. I was there by her side throughout her battle. I still wish I had done more, made her life easier. I probably sound petty, but a part of me is forcing me to re-evaluate every interaction I ever had with her.

Confession: I love destroying my books when I read them. I break the spines, hold them in wonky ways, and rough-handle them. I feel like it gives the books character like a patina on iron. I also buy used books for the purpose
