If you can do most but not all, I would say put yes to open availability. Most retail places I've worked at won't even consider people without them having open availability. And then in the interview, that's when I'd tell them I can do three weekends a month or whatever. At least it gets you in the door and gives you a chance.
I would explain it when you get the interview. Most of the time they require you to work every other weekend anyhow. I wouldn't let them know before you have an interview though.

I don't think most places expect EVERY weekend so you'd be okay but always worth mentioning but don't say it like you're entitled to it, let them offer it.

I don’t know. Retail roles require most of the time you work weekends. Unless you’re a manager and get to work every other weekend.

Definitely mention down the line if you need a particular weekend off. Most weekends is reasonable and shouldn’t disqualify you, but I think if an employer doesn’t see ALL, they’ll see it as a red flag perhaps

Honesty upfront is usually better. Most managers appreciate clarity, and “most weekends” is often workable. Saying yes and backtracking later can hurt trust more than limited availability.

You could probably mention it down the road but in my experience most won’t consider you if you say you can’t work weekends.
