That's not a good offer on their part.
Bonus is not guaranteed
So true, a company I was at offered a 10% bonus but in 4 years the most I got was about 2%. They tie it to impossible goals and make it so nobody can actually get the true bonus.
It’s all about the base, if they can’t pony up an extra £4k a year to match what you currently make, that’s booty son
It's either all you're worth right now (in which case be happy where you are while you build your success stories) or all they've got (in which case decide whether the work is interesting enough to make the change.
Not a great offer to move. External move always looking for >+20% guaranteed (personally)
regardless of how much they pay you, you'll probably be working significantly more than you are now, and you'll have basically 0 job security, because that's what happens in game development companies. are you sure it's worth it?
I say look at the job first. Doing something you love at a company you love can make up for a salary discrepancy. But if the company and job aren't something you want to do, then don't take it at any price. Life's too short to worry about spending 1/3 or more of your day with a company, people, or job you dislike or don't have passion for.
Is it Riot? If so, good luck, I've heard they're rotting on the inside.
that's just how the games industry is unfortunately
