Has anyone left PwC while they still had an outstanding Educational Support Program repayment agreement? What is the repayment process like? Am I required to pay back the amount in full the day I leave the firm or is there the ability to do a repayment agreement? I’m looking at new opportunities and would like to have my new firm take on the amount of the tuition agreement ($14,000) but don’t know how much that might limit my options.

No tips, just here to say you go girl for knowing your priorities and working to make your job and life what you want it to be!
Thank you! I’m so nervous to ask but I’m going to anyways. The worst they can say is no. I like the firm and don’t want to leave but would appreciate some help as I transition back. I know I will take a hit with a reduction in my salary but this is why I paid off my students loans and have been living way below our means. I took a hit when I went out on maternity leave but we have been fine which is why we are okay with this change. For at least a little bit.
Following...I'm going back to work soon and I cannot fathom being away from my baby boy. But I'm the breadwinner so..
This first week back was rough. :/
Im in biglaw and requested a reduced schedule to care for a terminally ill parent but on a pretty much permanent basis (until they pass, which hasn’t happened yet/wont happen for maybe a few years).
First, I spoke with colleagues about how they went about asking for reduced hours and had a solid plan for exactly what I was asking for (80% schedule, for how long (1 year plus) and how I planned to still be responsive 24/7 regardless of billing less overall). I scheduled a meeting with my PG head who I had a good relationship with and made the pitch, then coordinated with HR from there. HR conveyed the schedule to the partners I work with. I do occasionally remind people I’m on a reduced schedule when I’m overwhelmed as well.
I will say, I was prepared to get PIP’ed if it didn’t go well, but thankfully that was an unwarranted fear.
Good luck!
Good luck!!
Good luck and good for you! Keep us posted on how it goes. I think it’s important to stress that this stage is only temporary- you want to focus on your children while they are young. There will be a time where there are in school and you’ll have more time to shift back toward your career goals. I hope your firm is supportive.
That’s great news! And exactly how a firm should be when a request like this is made. Good for you for making that decision and having the courage to ask.

I converted a telework day to an off day, which was an easier ask I think.
Thank you for the lift! I’m so nervous to ask but am going to next week!
