I am in charge of IT for a smallish nonprofit (85 staff, rotating cohorts of grad fieldwork interns) and prior to my arrival, program staff used whatever tech they wanted. Over the last two years, I have gotten almost everyone to use our standard stuff. Now I am working with our new HR head to develop an onboarding module to share our policies, procedures, and standards. I am looking for advice on the best format for this information that will engage people. Thoughts, please?

How does the referral system work? Should I apply from the website and then ask for a referral or is there a chance to ask for an employee to refer internally? Would the latter option be considered ahead of the first option?

How diligent is Mintz background check. When it comes to education? My references, credit, criminal and work experiences will check out. However said I already graduated school when I am in reality a month away from graduating. The company sent over the contract and start date at the same time as the background check.
