Additional Posts in Job Hunting in Tech
I'm looking to find a job like the Forward Deployed Engineer role Palantir Technologies in the UK.
I have become hooked on finding a job that involves solving the kinds of problems they presented during their interviews. Although I got to the final round my performance anxiety got the better of me (I think I wanted the job a bit too much...). I will reapply after working in a similar company.
Is it "deep tech" / "data science" or "smart enterprise" that they're doing? Any advice welcome.

They had one job.
I wouldn’t take anything personal. I was given the same one multiple times before being hired. It’s just a generic way of saying they aren’t interested. It’s cold and hurtful if you put your time and energy into preparing or doing sample work, but it’s the nature of the beast and unfortunately the hiring process is getting much much worse as time passes.
Recruiters are just awful at their jobs. I've gotten emails addressed to other people lol. They can't even change the name out when they copy and paste
This email reads like you dodged a bullet. That's got organizational culture issues written all over it, pun intended 🤓
Translation: “We already had someone in mind for this job before we posted it but we still had to go through the interview process with multiple candidates as a formality. If we find another opening though we would likely hire you next time”
Don’t take it personally, it happens more often than you think.
This is the one i constantly receive.
Yeah I got one like this, emailed them back to the actual email they were responding to me to because the email came from a no reply lmao they were soooo apologetic 🙄
Did you get the job?
I would say in the email back, “unfortunately I’ve also decided to go another route due to having more attention to detail than the company that is hiring, see below.”
All this sophistication in a hiring processes just so later the hiring manager and hr dude both fail
Had an experience where HR said need is super urgent and after 3 rounds of interviews deaf silence for over a week. Sent them an email to follow-up and never heard back.
Name and shame?
Thank you for your post! [Insert funny remark that's specific to the person]
Gotta hate when they try to pretend to personalize and have an epic fail
Bro what?
If they were THIS incompetent … I just wonder how they really do business on a daily basis internally and Client facing🥴😬
That seems to be the standard "form letter" -- I've gotten the same verbiage. I agree - the recruiter or whomever sent it, obviously didn't proof read the response. Hang in there!
Wow. Very incompetent.
Aww yes the blanket bulk reply that temps and overwhelmed HR staff forget to customize. My favorites are the rejection letters they use for different positions and could care less to change the position to the actual one you interviewed or applied for. SMH.
Proof reading. Very helpful.
