Hi fellow designers, I was offered a UX designer role at Egencia in Paris, but it’s been 2 months since they made the offer by phone and I haven’t received the contract. I was told they were switching internal processes, then they were waiting for approval from upper management to make these offers official, and now the HR is working on it after getting the green light. Is it normal for this part of the hiring process to take so long? Or should I be worried?
Short: yes
There are companies where you can easy get an architect. And at my current customer I can't belive that these architects can write 1 line of code...
But you will never write 1 line of code (in bigger companies). In startup the role is mostly kind of mixed since they can't afford too many people

The architect role encompasses many skills set at my organization. We expect them to know how to code (because we deal with IaC) but they don’t have to code. However, they’ll be working with and in scrum teams of SWEs so they at least need to know how to code.
I think it really depends on the company. So he should just try to apply, he can't loose anything.
