For me, when my boss actually shows up on time to the calls that he sets up with me. (He is notorious for running 20 min late).
I guess I'm not really that worried about my employer caring about me. I assume that they are faceless, profit-driven corporations, and they only care about us to the extent that they retain us to do their bidding. I used to think that my company really cared about us, and I was proven wrong time and again, so I just get the money and get out.
My company doesn't care about me at all. They care about getting the most profit from my work for the least amount of money. I have worked at a company before where they genuinely cared about making sure the employees were happy, and as a result, turnover rate was extremely low. I do miss that, but it's not a deal breaker. As long as I'm being paid is what matters most to me.
