How much hike you received?
Op - don't bother arguing with folks who have to compare their increment with what others got to decide if they are happy or not, what really matter is you are happy. It was a very nice gesture from you to post this happy message.

I know the feeling- after having one of the worst years of my life when even getting up from bed was difficult for me - it felt so good to be appreciated( got promoted with a good pay bump)

Thankyou and you too ☺️
Feels good to see people coming on top after battling difficult and tough times 🙏🏻
Yes some times small gestures can bring a big difference. All the best
Yes, C1. Thank you though 😊
Sending you my best wishes. Hope you achieve everything you ever wanted.
Thank you, fellow ZSer!
All the best. Your hard work paid off at the end.
Thank you CG1 😊
Heard this year increments were really good there..not sure about the real story.
It is true. But that is not what made me emotional.
So share with us what made you happy.
I had a tough year (like all of us here). I gave my all to my job. Was fearful of the economy and the news of lay-offs everywhere. Getting an increment (any number) with a letter thanking me for my contributions this year just made me emotional. Like there is someone watching out for me. Like there is balance in the world.
Totally get your feeling. Glad for you :)
Thank you ZS4!
Okay, let me share you my story. I joined my current organization in a new department (out of my comfort zone). So initially I was dependent on others for the transition but my Manager was always like you are an experienced guy we expected you to deliver from day 1 and bla bla other things. From that day I started giving my more than 100℅(I mean overtime) to excel in my new role. Also, I did a lot of things in my project that no one has tried/done earlier. Since my Manager was a newbie in his role so i guess he didn't knew that he had to appreciate my efforts as well. Year ended and when the appraisal discussion started then they mentioned that since you are a newbie here and still learning so x℅ hike is apt for you. I was like what?? Whole year you were mentioning that I'm experienced and now you are saying I'm a newbie to justify your single digit hike(lowest in my career). Later I got to know that everyone got hike in similar range only. After 2 months, 5 people in my team are leaving and now I'm happy.
So this is my solace. Now I'm contented 😅
