They probably went right back to scrambling to find someone else. Maybe send a thank you message to whomever it was who actually interviewed you.
One was the HR person I interviewed with! I put 2 people on the email
The courteous move would be for them to respond… sometimes the recruiter is just too busy or too incompetent to respond… they’re on to the next thing / person. There is also a chance they’re talking internally and trying to figure out next steps before responding. Definitely not normal!
It was weird because it was to 2 people and they were sooo quick to communicate before. But makes me feel even more confident I made the right choice because there were red flags
Basically most of HR are employing the same rule book that they do when they online date. It’s wild, but true.
I have always received a response but I agree that they’re probably busy going through books again to find candidates. It happens.
That could be true too and often
You’d think they’d be cordial but nope. Not in this day and age.
They don’t care and already reached out to their 2nd choice. Congrats on dodging a bullet.
Same thing happened to me a few years ago. I thought I was extremely gracious in my email (I thanked them for the generous offer and for their confidence in me) but never got an acknowledgement. I took that as them being a little butthurt but yeah could have just not wanted to waste any time pivoting, who knows.
Rising Star
I think every place is different but I wouldn't worry about it. If they can ghost you when they don't want you, they can ghost you when you don't want them.
I turned down an offer once in the same way, very graciously. I was very surprised to never hear from them again. I think companies take it personally.
it seems wild to me that you have spent this much time thinking about a job you turned down. It’s like breaking up with someone and being upset they didn’t cry .. you determined it wasn’t a good fit and YOU moved on. or did you …
