I got a title bump earlier this year and was very excited. However, there hasn’t been any additional compensation, change to benefits, or even a bonus. Is this the new norm in corporate culture?

Shouldn’t be. Was your new title language to indicate a role with higher responsibility or just a change in title? Some companies are restructuring titles so a change in title may not necessary mean increased responsibility… which usually is followed by compensation and benefit increases.

Not the norm but I’ve seen it happen, both when titles as restructured as DA1 said above and when companies are cheap. If the role is an expansion of scope or responsibilities, I’d focus on making sure that growth/promotion is clear on your resume and LI so that when you start looking for a new role, you can aim higher thanks to this new title. Even if you aren’t getting more money now, this should help you in your next step.

That’s a demotion, new title, responsibilities and expectations without a pay increase is a demotion packaged nicely imo

It completely depends. It could be a lateral move or just a change in title are there additional responsibilities?
We restructured and added new titles based on what people were doing because the company was growing, but they didn’t have any more responsibilities. They were just split into titles that made more sense for what they were doing. If you have more responsibilities, then absolutely you should have an increase.

Just got another rejection... Is exiting to FAANG or MB really this hard? Trying to go tech.. or mbb, but not getting anywhere. I have 2 masters (mba, ms) from top schools, been in consulting for over 10 years, I am confident that I know my stuff well..but still I keep getting rejected. Interviewed with Google, Amazon, Cisco, McKinsey, and a few others and every-time there is something that is not a match... are the hiring managers looking for like 100% match? That will never happen!!!

Hey guys, need some advice. I was fortunate enough to get the Consortium fellowship at Ross but am also stuck on the CBS waitlist and am still planning to apply to Wharton in R3. Assuming I get into CBS/Wharton, is there that much of a difference between them to forgo scholarship money? For context, I want to get into product management at FAANG/fintech with pursuing MBB as a plan B. Thanks in advance!

Advice and tips for a first time rental property investor?

I am 24 saving up for my first property to purchase at the end of 2021 / early 2022 in the Long Island, NY area.

I’d like to save up around $50K in my HYSA for a property <$400K in LI. Does this sound reasonable?

Does anyone have any advice on investing in the LI area (best location, SFH v MFH) or just general first time rental property buying advice?

Thanks all
