I graduated with an MBA in cybersecurity in December. I have been working as a compliance specialist/auditor for the state for the past two years (KY). I am working on a certificate of accounting currently so that I can sit for the CPA exams. I have a BA in English. I am currently in the Bowling Green, KY area and would really like to stay in that area. If anyone has any advice that’d be great. Thanks!

Have you looked into roles in risk management or IT audit at regional firms or banks in the area? Your cybersecurity and accounting background could be a great fit. Also, networking with local CPA societies or ISACA chapters might open some doors. Wishing you luck!

How common are credit checks for roles in accounting or finance positions? Will high utilization on credit card balances and low credit score be a deal breaker? I’ve been irresponsible and made mistakes, but wondering if I can switch jobs now or if I’m best off waiting 1-2 years and cleaning up my credit first.

I work for a tech company that pays 100k tc plus 50,000 stock options. I have great work life balance, work 4 days per week on a 32 hour schedule plus it’s remote. Lately, I’ve been feeling like the compensation is on the lower end and just wanted to see if it’s in line with industry standards

I’m mid 30s F. Recently started seeing this guy, where he is “good enough”. Good conversations, decent time together, he has a good heart, but nothing about him shines. - not fit (I work out everyday and play sports), meh social skills (he doesn’t have best friends, just few he hangs out with), bit less energy than me.
There is a feeling in me that says “he’s going to be a comfortable life partner” and “he is just good enough, but if I break up I won’t find someone for a long time”
Do I stay?

I have just recently accepted a position as Director of Compliance at a Fin-Tech company here in Naples, FL.. My previous 17 YOE were strictly in the Financial industry. Does anyone know what the average salary is for this position? I have a sinking feeling that I accepted the role too quickly without comparing salaries. The position only pays $50k/year. That seems low to me.

I think we’re a reasonably happy family and i still hate the holidays time of year. It’s always something - terrible political views shared, issues with the food, someone said something objectionable to someone, silent feuds are forming or happening, kids or dog are having issues.

Anyone else feel similar? Or do other people legitimately love holidays with their immediate families and in-laws.
