I am an Immigrant living in America. My wife’s friend is an American and she is a physician. She has been in job for about 5 years now and earns somewhere around $300K-$400K. I am asking this as I see SDE making much more salary than data scientist. Also experience and skill set required to become SDE is much less than Data scientist. For becoming SDE you need DSA and System design but Data scientist position require hell lot of skills. Also it is easier to find a job as SDE .
