I had a mix of nannies and daycare and in retrospect I much preferred the daycare. It was play non stop then home for dinner with my parents I was tired they where tired. With nannies it was often an imbalance on energy and my parents experienced jealousy of the relationship

We have a part time mother’s helper but my wife is a SAHM. Daycare was a hard no for us and my wife was an au pair so she is very much against nannies due to the things she’s seen.

Au pairs are typically young and inexperienced (I mean that separately not as the reason they are inexperienced). You also have labor limits and extras you have to pay for.

I like daycare so much better for both of my kids. They really like being around other kids their age, and they enjoy the curriculum/framework. They were both bored with nannies.

Yeah, I feel like there’s more accountability in quality daycare/ preschool institutions vs. nannies.. unless you had cameras around your entire house. Plus the kids get more social enrichment.

I loved my nanny and had no feelings of jealousy towards her. She was lovely and to this date is like family to me. I started my son at daycare when he 2.5 but if I could have had my nanny for longer (she was expensive), I would have.

I set up a call today with an even more senior leader (I am an EVP) and asked him for advice on navigating the political waters of our global workplace. Has anyone tried to enforce a European non-compete/non-solicit (both foreign choice of law and venue) in the US? The employee moved with the company to the US 7 years ago and was never provided with an updated agreement. Assume for the sake of argument that the agreement is enforceable in the country of origin.

Just signed the outside employment form in KPMG onboarding system. I actually wanted to start dabbling in creative writing as a potentially monetizable hobby, but I'm guessing this may pose issues.

Definitely interested in the "exception from this policy may be requested if provision of non-professional services doesn't interfere with one's duties of causes conflict of interest" clause, though. Has anyone been able to get one of those before?
