You can just put "personal leave" - sometimes people add bullet points of skills they picked up or studied. You also don't have to say anything. If they ask just say you had to take a LOA for a medical reason. They shoud not probe further
From a practical ATS perspective it’s better to include and discuss if asked than leave off entirely.
Yes, I agree with Associate 1 - Always be upfront abt this, even if you don't like the reason why there's a gap, you can use language like career break or personal leave. This gives the recruiter or hiring manager the idea that you are able to tell your story in a clear way, which is what is so important in resumes
Pockmarked resume here. Head off what you can at the gate. Just say LOA for medical reasons. You are in a better position than I am. Good luck. Will not even be an issue for most firms except some pedantic ones.
I think it can harm you in the long run if you give too much detail, I would honestly just leave it off, and if they ask, answer succinctly
