- I have a great boss. I haven't been feeling well, and don't have a family doctor. To get a doctor's appointment where I live is like a fight to the death, and you have to be a sharp shooter on the phone right at 8:30am. I was scheduled for a shift from 9-5 but was able to get a doctor's appointment. My boss let me be totally flexible around my appointment, and he said "flexibility goes both ways". I'm always good about picking up extra shifts if people call in sick. Just wanted to share!

Those are the kinds of managers that build a great team and instill loyalty, in my opinion. They aren't just rigid for the sake of it, they understand that people have lives and families and concerns outside of the job. It's great to hear that your manager is so awesome!

That's good to hear! I've worked with managers where we had mutual trust like that and it really makes a world of difference. I've also had managers who were suspicious of everything and that was just the worst.

I love those types of managers that not only lead a team but also look out for everyone on their team. I’m glad you get to experience a great manager. Not a lot of people have managers that care about them.

Normally, if you make your boss's life easier, by picking up shifts when others call out, they will be all about helping you out when you need it.

Living in NJ and may be able to choose NYC as my home office. People who live in NJ can choose NJ / NYC office, which one did you choose?

NJ office: no NYC tax, don't have to file 2 state return. Live in NJ so auto assigned to NJ office currently.

NYC office: NYC tax on paycheck, easier commute, possibly higher pay?

Thoughts on Centron?

Home office preference question. I am getting ready to redo the layout of my home office. One option I'm considering would have my desk facing a wall. I am wondering if anyone with this current setup has any feedback about it. I would face the wall so that I would have a better background for video conferences (am on about half the day) and also my cord situation would be cleaner.
