USI Insurance brokerage and consulting - thoughts? A recruiter reached out to me via linked in and I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on this company. They seem to have decent reviews on Glassdoor but I was hoping to get more insight into workload and comp. Thanks in advance! USI
Advice needed - boyfriend has almost 3.5 years of finance experience at a bank. Interviewed for PwC valuation senior associate and now recruiter says they want to hire him at “experienced associate” because he has no valuation experience. Is this too big of a step backwards in career? Should he push back and see if it gets him anywhere? If he does accept Associate, is it reasonable to ask for written, definitive timeline (1 year?) for promo to Senior upon meeting standards? Help!

Pay doesn’t really vary that much from New Jersey to New York. The only thing I could think of is relocation comp, but even then I don’t think there’s that much of a difference.
I chose to stay in jersey to avoid extra taxes

If you live in Jersey, definitely don't pay NY taxes (by asking to be assigned to a NJ office and not a NY office). I make 250k and could save $1500 if I paid NJ only taxes and $4000 if married and paying only NJ taxes. Also...give the tax dollars to NJ and not NY if you physically live in NJ.
You wouldnt pay NYC tax if you don’t live there. You would file a NYS tax return as you mentioned.

If you’re tagged to the New York office, they’ll likely make you pay NY income tax (not city if you aren’t a resident)
You pay NYS income tax if you are assigned to the NY office, but the NYC tax is only for residents of NYC. I love living in NJ and working in NYC.
