True. Novartis also give 365 days sick leave which makes us all relaxed enough to work at our most productive form. Also, nobody takes advantage of that because you don't really have to. I have worked 36 hours straight over here and have taken it light the next day. I love that novartis gives me the freedom to take a light day even after working all day and night maybe even for 1 day. No rules as such about being allowed a light day but you are the master of your deliverable and no one is standing behind your shoulder to clock you. Even if you have a stakeholder-given deadline, you know just how you want to manage it. And I love the formal atmosphere here (Hyderabad). No unprofessional talks (like we keep hearing from zs people on all professional platforms 😅). Guess all these things combined will make anyone not wanna leave Novartis. My 6th year here.

If you are the sole caretaker of your parents or immediate family, you can mention that to the HR and ask for remote working. Note that this contract will be up for renewal every year based on your home situation.

What are office hours typically for developer roles..
Will it be 9 to 5 or is it like we need an overlap with US team and will be until late evening hours..
Everyone has their own office hours but we try to stay at work between 11/11:30 am to 4pm during which the whole world is available except for the extreme west. 4pm doesn't mean you stop work. It only means you can go home and work from there after that. I start work at 11:30 which means I should work till 8pm but I continue as long as is required when I am in the zone.
Will Novartis give WFH if someone has personal constraint to relocate to job location for Laptop specific role?
No. Remote working is only for extremely special circumstances. Let's say the parents are bed ridden. Or the children. Or you yourself. Such things. Many people have been forced to quit and join elsewhere because of this.
