In most cases: do not opt out of AI screening if it’s part of the company’s normal hiring process. At many organizations, AI screening (ATS parsing, ranking, scoring) is not optional in practice even if they present it as such. It’s how they handle volume.
If you opt out your application may go into a separate, lower priority queue or it may never get reviewed at all
Most modern hiring stacks use AI to: Parse resumes, Match keywords/skills, Rank candidates based on job fit
A human still makes the decision to: Interview you, Move you forward, and Hire you.
That's my honest assessment as a Recruiter.

This is the new age of looking for work and work now. AI is everywhere and the people who don’t use it in someway, it’s going to get very hard for them sadly.
some companies? I would say that all companies that have a HR of more than 1 person and half of the rest.
I have never seen that option tbh. If there is, I wouldn’t take it. I’d rather take my chances with ATS than end up in the pile that will only be looked at after the ATS-processed ones, if at all.

It’s becoming the new normal. You might get put into a pile and get interviewed slower, than the ones who did the AI interview. I say opt in everytime.
