I jumped into a contract role right after a very intense role I held for 5 years. It hasn’t gone well (although I did get extended a bit to work on editing projects with a film editor I took on work with to fill my time). Finally got feedback today that (not this film work) they were “unimpressed” with my output and the ECD “couldn’t shake it”. This is the first time I’ve gotten a bad review in my 13 years in this work. My contract is ending in two weeks and honestly, I’m just … I feel like sh*t

It's really tough to keep your head on right in those kinds of situations, but try to remember creativity is subjective and you're worth more than the work you do. Take the holiday to let your brain play. Do some weird shit. See a show that isn't popular. Hang out with people not like you. Come back to the work and dump the jerk who gave you unhelpful feedback and move on.
