I think it's important in the sense that I appreciate that the company provides it for those who want or need it. But it doesn't affect me directly. If my company were to get rid of it, I know some people would probably be upset.
I haven't taken advantage of that yet at my current job, but I've been thinking about doing it, perhaps later this year. So sure, that would matter to me. My employer still offers it and I have no reason to think they wouldn't, but you never know. Companies are looking to cut costs wherever and whenever.
At this point in my career? No I wouldn’t miss that so much. But there was a time in my youth where having an employer who offered educational reimbursement would’ve been like changing. I didn’t have that, but it would’ve been nice and I can see why you’re worried about it.
In my old company we had $500 towards education. I used it for certificates. It was nice but not the end all be all. If it was a larger portion like $1000+ then maybe would sting a bit more. Especially if you could use it towards conferences or something like that
