Well, the thing is that there really is no way to know how many of those jobs are actually real. Believe it or not, many companies post fake jobs to sell the illusion of growth. A huge problem with these stats is that they do not distinguish between full-time jobs and part-time jobs. And over the years in all sectors of every industry compaines have removed majority of full-time positions and made them part-time or contract based , i.e. hiring many more employees but paying each employee significantly less than ever before. Meaning that in terms of stats these companies are hiring way more people and more people are employed compared to unemployed but part time jobs only offer survival wages hence the constant job search. Perfect case studies of this phenomenon are Walmart, Starbucks and Tim Hortons. Similar trends have happened in the entertainment industry where many companies don't hire full-time and either outsource to other countries or only contract freelancers for a few weeks and extract 6months worth of work. This applies more to videographers, editors, photographers but its also happened to artists, writers, costume designers, production designers with the current online streaming business model. I have heard similar things about music industry.
