I lateraled to my current form as a second year and 6 months after that I went on maternity leave. I came back to work in February 2025. In September I had my end of year review, which was sort of mixed but generally negative. I was told people like working with me but I’m technically behind. To me, that was not a surprise because at my previous firm we were micromanaged and then I spent less than a year in total actively working here. I’m having a mid year review in March. How bad is this?

If you're still getting put on good matters and are hitting your monthly billable targets for the most part, I wouldn't worry.

If you're having a lot of trouble getting staffed on things, or you're getting staffed but then people seem unreasonably critical of your performance, etc., I'd be concerned that they're trying to ice you out

I received similar reviews after lateraling (noting that I did a bit of a change in practice groups when I lateraled) and am still around! I would be really diligent about getting certain projects to build your substantive knowledge, and also finding people you work well with and that are happy to develop you in areas that need work (and that make note that you have a lot of potential/convey confidence that you will bridge the technical gaps in their reviews). Hope this is a bit reassuring!

I had very positive feedback on my interviews for a S&O role but the team hired someone internally. If I interview again for a differenr role, would I have to do all the interviews again or can I use some of the scores from previous interviews. Hi people, I am going to have the interview with TRS - Financial services team at EY london. This job is basically assesing the Non-performance loans portfolios of the banks. The recruiters said it will be a case study lasting for 2.5 hours. The case will not be given in advance. They only said it is a about a fictious bank. Any one in this group has any suggestions or thoughts about this upcoming case study?
