After passing out btech in 2022 I was in a MNC from 2022 to 2023 as an associate engineer (domain-data analytics).due to ressecion and all I get laid off in 2023 .Post that I have upgraded my skills to have projects, portfolio and also give interviews but most of the time HR ghosts me or sometimes they tell as of now the position is closed .Now going through all of these things I have 1.5yrs of gap as of now.pleasehelp

I am considered a part of leadership and am a people manager in addition to my sales role. I am a high performer and last year got a 10% raise (which I asked for). This year I was offered 5%. I am going to counter but curious what anyone thinks I should ask for. I was thinking 8%.
