I needed to make more money than I was at my current job, and so I applied to a couple of jobs last month. My manager walked in on me taking an interview, and he's been really cold to me ever since. We haven't talked about it, and it's just weird. I didn't get that job and now I'm in a position where I feel I might lose this one. What should I do to clear the air?

That’s such an awkward situation. A short, honest conversation where you acknowledge what happened, explain you were exploring options for growth, and reaffirm that you’re committed to doing your best work while you’re there can help clear the air and give you a read on whether trust can be rebuilt. You never, it could open up a possible raise for you if they really value your presence.

My question to you is why set up a interview on a day your scheduled to work. Not only is that disrespectful to your current employer but also to the company your applying for. Second it would of been better to do the interview in your car or coffee shop versus on the job. Reevaluate what your goals are and make a list of what's considered the responsible way to complete those goals. I would like to recommend you book called Atomic Habits.

i take it that the interview is within the same company or building,, only,, how did your mngr walk in on the interview,,?!?! ps,, did you get the job

Wow !! This is so frustrating !!
Got call from 13 HRs telling me about this amazing opportunity they have for me, but they immediately started to end the conversation as soon as they heard my notice period is 3 months !!
I mean their company policy is 3month NP as well, but they're acting like this 😅

Has anyone moved away from NY and successfully resigned from the NY bar? What are the consequences if you just don’t pay? The requirements are insane to officially “resign” - draft a motion, pay a fee, send proof of service - I honestly do not know what this nonsense means, I’m not a litigator for a reason. Is there someone I can pay to do it? Should I just pay the $375 to stay active to avoid this nightmare?
