Title? That happened to me. However, the third day I quit. It came across as toxic. I landed a better remote role who is properly onboarding. What also helped me was 1:1 with team members. 6 months seem long Is this a pivot or a role you have experience in?
My title is Director of Operations. Yes, I did get a promotion after 3 months so technically I have been in the current role for 3 months. My salary is decent so I am really trying to make this work but I really struggle with the no training.. figure it out approach. Thank you for your feedback!
Sounds like what I encountered at Blue cross blue shield very shabby one time zoom meeting & then you are thrown into the wild to figure things out. Please begin to plan your exit ASAP. Those are signs of a toxic work place.
FYI they keep hiring to fill up same positions because people get frustrated and leave. I still have recruiters reach out to me for the same position at that location. I tel them never ever 👎 the short time I worked there messed with my mental health. No thank you!
Ask to record the training sessions and take notes. They can record on zoom. In writing ask for a training outline or standard operating procedure and cc HR.
Training outline!? Love that idea! I will definitely be requesting a training outline for the budget I should know how to do after a 30 minute zoom training. Smh
Please do some youtube tutorials... and refer old on boarding documents and see where u find gaps in your work.. try do not give up.
Do some virtual training with your boss and colleagues on Teams and record the sessions
Are there any online training options? My company has a whole library of training modules that can be watched on demand by any employee at any time, and a bunch of them are focused on the tools, systems, and processes we use in various roles.
I was assigned the training after I needed it. I had no clue what to do so I dropped the ball on several things. I do not operate like that. Not having training or guidance is really effecting my work performance. After discussing the with my supervisor, I was told to make it up as I go with confidence and I would be okay. I am not making this up folks!
Start looking for another job, the money is good but your peace of mind is priceless. I learn one thing you can't fit a circle into a square. When something isn't for you the signs will appear and it is up to you to either listen and take action or ignore it and watch everything crumble around you. Wishing you all the best in your journey.
They're probably toxic and they're considering letting you go. If people are talking about you that way it's usually a red flag. It's been six months, so if you're not getting it that's usually long enough. You could try reading up on stuff, but personally I would assume they're gonna say that you took too long. So you could spend all your time trying to keep going at your job or spend time looking for a new job.
Much earlier on in the game, you should have taken notes on everything explained. Download software to record your screen but usually you can just record a zoom call and watch the video later. Don't assume you'll remember everything by heart. Tutorials and the software help pages will also help.
Which is why they need to document asking for more training and resources. If they fire them then hopefully it will help obtain unemployment benefits.
my former female boss did the same thing to me. she never trained me and was gone for a majority of my first 90 days.
when I sat down with her to go over the training outline and on boarding the things I didn’t know she actually needed to show me and couldn’t be bothered.
who is your boss bad mouthing you to? you need to keep a running diary of this as well as email if you chat with her or after you ask for a training outline or a touch base.
if I could do it over again I would have done that as well as talked with her superior and brought up my concerns. i went to HR and that did not go over well
