I studied environmental policy+economics and now research ESG issues for a lobbyist, but I’ve become more drawn to the finance side and would like to pivot to a similar role in banking. I’d appreciate anyone willing to chat and share their experience/advice in this area!

Reach out to Acre! They’re a recruiting Firm and have a lot of sustainable finance roles

like

Thanks! I’ve heard of Acre before, will definitely check them out.

No direct experience but I’d say familiarize yourself with PCAF, GHGP Category 15, and trends in green, social and sustainable instruments (as well as “sustainability-linked” instruments which are different!). Also SASB for ESG materiality if you’re not already familiar

like

Thanks for the response. I’m familiar with materiality but don’t think I’ve heard of PCAF before—looks interesting!

If you're based in Europe and interested in ESG regulations and their implications on banks, then look at the following: EU Taxonomy, EBA Pillar 3, CSRD, SFDR

Then read up on ISSB’s new proposal and SEC’s rules.

I’m a third year associate wanting to leave my second law firm. My first two years of practice I was at a small firm and left to a mid-size firm to practice insurance defense. I have enjoyed the practice but not the firm. The firm’s culture is toxic. The firm has had 7 attorneys leave in the last year. Is it wrong for me to wanting to leave? Will i give the impression of being a job hopper? Does it really matter?
