I'm in EY consulting. What I'm seeing is every department on the consulting side is building up their sustainability advisory services. My understanding is that all assurance and non-financial reporting will stay with CCaSS while projects with an advisory/strategy scope will go to consulting.
Thanks, that’s very helpful to know.
AssureCo won’t just be an organization that provides assurance. It will continue to provide advisory (consulting) services through group like FAAS, CCaSS, etc. CCaSS will continue to serve channel 2 clients. The downside of Everest for CCaSS is that they won’t be able to offer projects with EY-P or Consulting, the GCSP’s may no longer be in AssureCo - so it could be more difficult to bring in business and it is uncertain what AssureCo’s approach would be towards CCaSS since base of AssureCo would like to convert channel 2 clients to channel 1.
There will be considerable advantages too. Today, almost all groups (EY-P, Consulting, FSO, Tax, etc.) offer ESG advisory services without having expertise. The split will make CCaSS the true center of ESG offerings.
Yes, NewCo will have to build out more depth in sustainability and they will be able to do it in a few years.
FAAS, CCaSS, etc. will still be able to pursue Ch 2 but will lose some key clients on the advisory side as they will become Ch 1.
So CCaSS will just lose all its non-assurance business, since it’s staying in AssureCo? How does that make sense?
I’m a CCaSS employee who does strategy and implementation work, not assurance. Do I suddenly lose all my potential work? Or will I go to newCo?
Please share here once you know more! I love the work CCaSS does and want to join the team, curious to know how the team's services are changing.
