That is pretty nuts. What is the exact role of these managers? Just people management and performance management? It's pretty hard to drive a group of 30. You would need to break them into teams/squads but even then you will need team leads of sort
Well people and performance management as well as project management. Its crazy! And because they didn't get enough people applying for the roles, they now don't have enough people so one poor guy has nearly 50 DRs.
That’s nuts! Companies are looking at all opportunities for cutting cuts & increasing the financial returns to stakeholders/ senior leaders. This is just another way for them to do that. There is no world that this manager is capable of nurturing & empowering ppl under him to shine. I would expect a lot of “performance issues” being highlighted for the huge disconnect. Personally I want to be under a leader that will advocate for me. Similar thing happened where I am. My skip level used to have 15 in the team but in the past year due to combining multiples teams/ areas now has close to 45. It’s crazy! I don’t recommend
