Great city to move to! Lots of things happening and football Mecca. Make sure you get a place in city centre to enjoy everything with only a short walk away.
Started a Manchester bowl too if interested do join https://joinfishbowl.com/bowl_gemd15ovwx
Hey,
I may be a little late. But, welcome to the city. I stay in Manchester. Wish you a happy stay here.
You may need to be prepared with the climate as I don't know where from US you are coming.
Would be glad to connect or meet you.
you'll love it, great city to live. check out mediacity, trafford centre and the northern quarter on a day out. the peak district and lake district aren't too far if you're going sightseeing further out too. but otherwise just like Truepill 1 said, staying central will mean everything is in walking distance for you for day 2 day living.
also think about getting a railcard for cheaper train travel if you think you'll be travelling a lot. train tickets are a bit pricey in the UK in general. get a national insurance number if you haven't already as you'll need that often for life admin. we don't have great investment vehicles in the UK compared to the US. An ISA is probably as exciting as it gets... if you are bothered about that kind of thing
