I dont think they’ll tell the partners but they’ll encourage you to tell them. Also, HR is the most pointless thing on earth. Sure, now they know you’re pregnant. But the partners you worth with will be wondering where you are and will likely penalize you for it in your reviews. I say this from personal experience. HR is there to make it seem like the firm cares but it doesn’t. The partners are who you need to just tell.
To avoid getting penalized for working remotely as often…
I used to work in HR and the answer to your question is it depends. If you're asking for this as an accommodation, they probably will have to tell your partners as part of the interactive process. This, honestly, is how they should treat it, even if you think you're just telling them as an FYI.
If you're just telling them as a cya just in case your partners start complaining, you're probably just better off disclosing to the partners yourself.
I doubt they’d tell the partners but if it’s the partners in your group who care about the policy, I don’t know what the point would be?
What is your justification for working from home more? If firm/team policy is to be in office X days- be in office X days. As someone else mentioned tokens: if you’ve had need for accommodations, you have to submit that information to receive the accommodation. Whether or not you Legal superiors see that is dependent upon the structure of your firm.

AA - agree with you. no kids or one of those women who loved being pregnant and can’t imagine why others wouldn’t 😂
I worked in a small office of an am 50 firm, and HR told the partners everything.
I would never voluntarily talk to HR. I would assume grave harm would result in all instances, but I would have your doctor help you get an accommodation and just submit that to them. The doctor doesn't need to disclose that you're pregnant, just disabled in some way.
