I feel like I’ll be doing it out of professionalism, but in the two week span I do not plan on doing any work save for finishing small matters…

Weekend thought as many of us watch our portfolios bleed away value as the market hit all time highs: stick with it. This is a very difficult time in the market so try to figure out what’s not working and fix it. Stick with your process while trying to improve it. That should you you in the best place to manage risk now and be positioned to capture new opportunities in the coming weeks and months. Discipline, execution, and patience are key sources of alpha. Work is an emotional rollercoaster - change my mind.

What’s the best way to turn down a 2nd interview? During the 1st interview, I learned that the compensation for the role is not within the range that I am looking for and requires 400 more billable hours a year than what I bill now. I’d basically be laterally for my current salary just to bill 400 more hours. I also wasn’t aware that the local office was strictly ID. Firm website advertises lots of practice areas. Any advice? What’s the most unethical thing you’ve seen OC get away with?

I’ve practiced litigation in DC for about 5+ years at a larger plaintiffs’ firm, and am considering a switch to a defense firm. Is there any insight to how many billable hours this would require, and how much time that would actually be? For reference, the firm has a 1900 billable hour requirement and the partner said I would have “no problem” fulfilling that based on the work they have.

I'm in a litigation, about 9 months in. Is it normal that I spend majority of my time making bundles for my partners (printing, binding, moving docs in a different order whenever there are new documents or he wants to add stuff) reviewing documents and making tables (e.g. dates, which documents are from where), and the only legal work is like notices of admission, list of documents, the occasional research? I'm so bored and I want to quit but I don't know if I have unrealistic expectations.
