I tried to warn my (now) former boss during the interview process. I was brought in to answer any questions she might have, and I did my best to paint a clear picture of just how dysfunctional things are. She either didn't understand or didn't believe me and ended up accepting the job anyway. She lasted a year before getting fired.

Yes! When I was in the process of leaving my last job, I had a lengthy phone call with one of my colleagues. She was upset because of something our manager had done and I was calling to comfort her, and told her how not normal it was and how she deserved better (she was genuinely amazing at her job and I knew she'd be so much happier somewhere else!). She was young however, so I don't think she had enough work experience to know it would be different somewhere else. She was very worried about it being worse. As far as I know, she hasn't left, but who knows, maybe the environment got better?

Generally curious how many companies offer phone reimbursement? My last gig did not but the current one does. Legally it seems, all employers are required to do so if we use our phone in literally any capacity (video call, slack, teams, emails etc). How prevalent is the issue of not reimbursing phone dues?

Have you ever been racially discriminated against in a personal healthcare situation/not at work? While you were ill or in the hospital? Obviously horrible when it happens to anyone but it takes the cake for me when white people in healthcare discriminate about Black people when they don't know they work in the same field and know how they should be treated.
