Likely, yes. You have an opportunity to intervene and help them get the next role. It could be in your company, or not.
If that individual wants to leave your team, and is open about talking about it.. I would probably support them in finding another position. It's hard to see staff go - but better than having unmotivated staff who feel stuck in a job they don't want.
It would depend on why they were requesting a transfer in the first place. Did they come across something that was a perfect fit for them but they were happy, or are they so desperate to be off the team that they applied for the first opportunity that came up?
Both of those - it was more or less the right opportunity combined with a desire to be in that team
