I'm a 33-year-old woman, but I look like I'm in my early 20s. I just had two separate interviews last week with male hiring managers, and I left both feeling like they were totally condescending and not taking me seriously. One even said, "You sound very mature." Is this type of attitude on their part a red flag, or am I just reading too much into it?

I always listen to my instincts and my gut. If you are double-thinking it, this means a red flag to me. So, you might want to keep looking for a place that won't bring you this feeling.

Condescension disguised as compliments is still condescension. If they can’t show respect in the interview, it makes you wonder what day-to-day interactions would be like. I agree with Marsh McLennan, move on.

I don't think you're reading too much into it. Unless there's remaining context. Go with your gut and GL!

Hi all, asking on behalf of my SO. He’s currently in a backend engineer security role and wants to move into an infra related one. He’s in talks with his manager about moving internally in his current company but that is still in discussion. He just got an offer from another company for an infra role but they need an answer in the next week. How do you guys suggest he push for a decision from his manager about the internal move. Should he tell his manager he has another offer?
