Most times, do not take the counter offer from the existing job. A lot of things can go wrong.
I'm looking for a job as a security personnel around Dublin. I do have PSA licence in possession
Talk to other company about counter offer and see if they have any flexibility and if yes, take that move on. And if not ask your company at least for 30%. See how far they are willing to go and then take your call.
I took a counter offer because it was 13k more but then my manager got let go and my team left now working for a new team, so essentially like a new job now, I was questioning if I like my job and if I'm happy then realized nobody really likes their job, it's a job in the end so I'm happy with the money and that's my motivator not job satisfaction because I will never be satisfied with that
True unfortunately in a corporate environment you are just a number. Nothing matters how strong performer you are or how committed you are to the job. Even if you make your role indispensable you just have a better survival change but that too could change and only leads to burn out. I have seen some high performers and very committed folks being let go in the name of turbulent market conditions. Once you are gone nobody cares and they move on.
