I feel you aren’t taking as seriously and promoted and or selected for higher roles when people people think you are younger than you are
This is absolutely the case P1 - @OP I would be shocked if it never happened to you in corporate settings. May not have blocked a promo specifically but likely influenced people's perspective on your "experience". People in corporate take you less seriously typically if they think you are very young/inexperienced. That's good if you haven't noticed it though saves some headaches but I see it happening all the time and faced it most of my career.
I wear blue light glasses to look older btw -
Make up can definitely make you look older. Why not embrace looking young? I’m 32 and trying to wear less makeup to look younger lol. Most women would love to be in your position
That’s true, I’m not saying I want to look old, I’m just saying I don’t want to look like a kid.
You don’t have to wear makeup to look older. Look at how you dress and wear your hair… lipstick can help.
I just embrace my youthful look. I’m 34 and I am definitely questioned all the time for my appearance for being 21-24. But it’s never stopped me from being promoted. Just have some confidence and authority in your tone when working and own your look.
I’d take it, people say I look 13-16. At least people are still thinking you look like an adult.
