I'm at the point where the current amount of weights I lift (10lbs) doesn't challenge me much but also can't do enough reps (barely two) with the immediate next amount of weight (15 lbs). How do you deal with this problem? How do I build the strength to progress to the next load? Constantly stuck feeling that I'm not doing enough but also that I can't do more.

Do the higher weight to failure (maybe 2.5 reps, keep fighting for the third rep) then drop and immediately go into the lighter weight til failure, even if it takes like 20 reps. Repeat 3x. In a couple workouts you’ll find you’re able to actually get that third rep. Then a fourth. Etc.

+1

Get 12 lb weights!

Yes it's a struggle. But like C1 said, just keep at it. Those 2-3 reps count too. They're building strength for you!

Use your 10lbs but make it harder by pulsing, holding under tension etc. you can google ways to “increase time under tension”. Until you are ready to go up a level.

I was wondering if anybody on here has warned their replacement to basically run and not take the job?? I’m leaving my job next Friday due to a toxic boss that was hired three years ago. I have a week and a half to train my replacement who I really happen to like and I really feel like I need to warn her not to put down roots. I know I shouldn’t even be concerning myself with this, but I’m feeling a lot of guilt not telling her the real reason I’m leaving-has anyone done this?
