It’s a risk you can have really good days and really slow days but you’ll most likely be making more in a tip position depending on how busy ur place of work is
I would also agree that FOH would pay much much more depending on business.
I personally went with the BOH path due to the consistency of my paychecks, and I also hated the feeling that I would have to be a kiss ass in order to earn my tips.
For sure front of house.
My personal opinion from what I have seen definitely FOH income wise and hour wise. Consider which position though. Usually bartenders have more responsibility and longer hours, they don’t get a chance to get “cut” early.
Additionally, consider if you can handle so many other personalities even when you have your own stress..
sometimes it is difficult to separate life stressed and deal with customers who are difficult.
Also… tips are not taxed up to a certain amount and I have noticed that a lot of places have been paying more hourly.
