Spent 22 years at Accenture
Direct admit MDs wash out at better than 70% inside 2 years
Feel free to DM me. Joined as a CL3 a number of years ago and still finding my in US.
I would stay away. It’s a mob culture at MD level, very difficult for people from outside to succeed . I have seen great ones Let go in 2 years
What practice?
Feel free to DM me…two stints as a direct admit MD.
Excellent questions. Guessing you know the answer…overly competitive, layers of “leaders” who don’t make decisions or take ownership, just nod in agreement to whoever is above them. Especially rough on experienced hires. Whatever you did before doesn’t matter. Whatever you do now doesn’t matter. It’s who you know, and who likes you, networking is the name of the game.
I left as an L3, had been up for L2 and practice didn’t get any Md promotes or movements 2 years ago.
It’s a mob mentality and the horse trading to support people who co tribute nothing is staggering. You won’t have that network and it will hurt you.
But realistically about 70% of direct admits are done within 3 years. Accenture is horrible at integrating
Thanks for the feedback. I’m still in the process (all positive so far) but will keep asking questions. What you all say gives me pause.
Perhaps it is better and worse by practice?
For the ones that made it long enough to enjoy their celebratory grant and equity vesting, what were the key success factors?
The comments here are basically what I have learned. Sounds like it is key to plug into a network quickly so you can get into accounts and also collaborative situations with other MDs to be successful with sales. But in a big firm it seems easy to get lost quickly.
On the other hand, it’s always competitive everywhere and you can be successful if you overcome those things. If you can somehow get into the system, the overall comp elements are appealing to me.
My guess is 70% flame out due to not making their numbers within say 2 years, so you don’t even reap the benefits of that “celebratory grant”.
